Choosing a wooden side table
Wood side tables add grain and warmth at the edge of a seating arrangement. The selection includes solid-wood elements and wood veneer over supporting cores. A walnut stain describes the color of a finish; it does not establish that the underlying timber is walnut. Check the individual construction details.
Fluted pedestals or slender frames?
Otta pairs an ash veneer surface with a solid ash base, while other designs use a more open metal support or a low sculptural wood form. Compare the table height with the sofa or chair beside it. A very low accent table serves differently from a taller end table used for a lamp.
Protecting wood and veneer surfaces
Use coasters under drinks and protect the finish from heat. Wipe spills promptly and follow the care instructions for the selected surface. Place the table where the base is stable and where its corners or extended top will not obstruct a walkway.
